Was anyone else crazy enough to go to South Street Seaport today?
for Children's Day?
OMG, it was NUTS!!!!!!!!!!! Thousands and thousands of people! It was way overcrowded and there was absolutely no crowd control! My childless sister is going to write a letter to the sponsors (Target) and give them a piece of her mind! At least the weather was beautiful!
My almost 3 year old did get to see a few of his favorite Noggin characters, so for him, it was a great day! His retelling (over and over and over) of the days' events helps me forget all the aggravation... and traffic!
Never again.

OMG IM SOOO JEALOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss the city so badly and asking my hubby to go into the city is like asking him to walk to Florida or something He's ANTI-city
Gosh, I would have loved that, crowds and all, I love hustle and bustle. Noggin characters? go ahead tell me who was there, do you have pics ?? Ugh, I would have taken my boys alone (Yeah right )
How awesome. I love SS Seaport !

Oh I am sort of glad we didn't go... my dh HATES crowded places, and with a child I am not to keen on them either. When I saw how windy it was this morning we decided to stay home. I feel better about not going now. Earlier I was feeling guilty that my son missed out on seeing all of his favorite characters. I am sorry it was so aggravating, but I am glad your son had a nice time.

I know Tracy took Patrick, I was wondering how they made out! I guess you answered my question!
At least the little guy had a nice time!
We did go to the city but not to the Seaport, I didn't think Aidan would be crazy about that enough yet for it to worth the crowds, we went for some BBQ Big apple BBQ same thing, lines, out of foods blah blah blah LOL

Re: Was anyone else crazy enough to go to South Street Seaport today?
HOLY CRAZINESS!! We got there at about 1:45. There was so many people. The Thomas conducter was telling a story. Patrick had no real intrest in that. So we looked at the boats. And decided we were hungry. The inside of the seaport was a madhouse. We sat down to eat & before I could even order we realized Hi-5 (the ONLY reason we went) was going to be on in 1/2 hour. So we left there & Barney was just getting on the stage. The mob for him was just CRAZY.
And I'm sorry just to many ignorant "parents" out there. ( 2 prime examples: 1 mother telling her 8 year old who was singing along w/ Barney to his sister "Shut Up this is for her not you" Another mother had a few children one being around 1 1/2 he didn't want to be there anymore & was getting anxious (totally common) she popped him in the head & he fell on the ground. She then gave him this look. I just wanted to pick him up & give him some cuddles. poor thing.) I have no time for people like that!
Vent over.
I got Patrick as close as I could so he could see Hi-5. he was in total heaven & had a blast. I really enjoyed them as well. As soon as they were over Patrick was done & hungry so we left. I thank God I didn't take the girls with me. I wouldn't have stayed at all. But, we did enjoy the day. I did take some photos that I will post later.
