Bat Mitzvah gift ideas - please share!
My husband's co-worker invited us to her daughter's Bat Mitzvah. I have no idea what to give as a gift.

I was going to get a Tiffany necklace for DH's co-worker's daughter's bat mitzvah, but everyone wound up giving money so we did too. We did over $200. I forget how much.

Is that it or should it be divisible by 18? I think we made our money divisible by 18. If it is ending in 18 they probably thought we were crazy.

The number should be devisible by 18, so 180 (10 times chai) -- but really 200 is fine. You could have given 216 for 12 times 18 or 234 13 time 18 with the significance that the child is turning 13. But IMHO 200 is a lovely gift.

I think it should be divisible by 18, which is why people will give $36, 54, 72, etc.
