Bath Question?

At what age did you start putting your ds/dd in the regular bath tub? Alex is flopping around in the purchased one. He goes from one end to other and loves to slip and slide. I just don't think he is quite ready for the regular tub.

Re: Bath Question?

I had dd in the regular tub, with a regular bathmat under her and about 3 inches of water, since she was about 8 weeks old! My SIL did that with her daughter and I saw her do it, and the baby was fine and loved splashing around. Of course, I never take my eyes off of her for one second.

We got one of those inflatable tubs that you put inside your tub.

I bought something like this...ours is a duck and the beak even quacks!

It was perfect for that inbetween stage where they are too big for the baby tub, but still too little for the big tub. Also is great to bring along if you travel.

Re: Bath Question?

For right now, if he goes in the regular tub, I go in with him, but he loves it so much that I've been taking a bath with him every night. I really like that seat! Maybe I'll have to get just one more Christmas present Chat Icon

Eh, Aidan was in the kitchen sink til 13 months Chat Icon
We tried the tub and he wasn't crazy about it. and even though he's a tall guy our sink is very deep and wide - he loved it and it was much easier on my back.

It wasn't til we started Water Babies that it occurred to me lets get him practicing his swim lessons in the bathtub

Re: Bath Question?

I bathed my son since he was about 7 months or so in an inflatable tub in the big tub (before that I used the baby tub in the big tub - never did the sink more than a month). He outgrew the baby seat before that but I wasn't ready for the big tub since he is so active I was afraid he would hurt himself. I got an inflatable tub as recommended by a friend and it was great. He loves it. Although he does still try to climb out here and there.
