"He's too young"

Whenever I talk about places I want to take Roman I often get the "he's too young to appreciate that" response. Does anyone else get that? It's very annoying.

Yes.
When Alexandra was 5 months old I took her to the aquarium in Riverhead, some people thought I was silly.
She LOVEd it!
I also took her to the LI Game Farm, Central Park Zoo, museums, etc...
Yeah, shes still small & can't pet the animals or really understand exactly what's going on, but it's great stimulation for her. She loved watching the animals, following the polar bear swimming through the water, etc...
...and besides... I like going.Chat Icon

THat's a shame! I took Jordana to the Museum of Modern Art a few weeks ago and everyone came up to me and told me how wonderful it was for me to be exposing my young daughter to art.

My friend's mom used to take her to all kinds of museums when she was a baby and would get the same kinds of responses that you are getting. Well that girl grew up to be one of the most intelligent, brightest women I know.

So who the heck knows if they really are too young. Its a wonderful experience for you and your baby.

Yeah, I get that too, from my parents and IL's even DH sometimes. I want to take her to disney, but everyone keeps saying she won't remember, same with the zoo, museums. Hey I wanna go!

Yes I get that, and I feel like every bit of stimulation is good for them.

We are going to Disney at 14 months old and people have been saying stuff, people just feel the need to make comments even if they are unnecessary or rude.
