New Teachers Anxiety
Any other teachers starting to feel anxiety about Sept?! I got my paperwork this week about meetings the last week in Aug and I have a permanent knot in my stomach!

Re: New Teachers Anxiety
I am starting my fifth year of teaching this September, in the same position, and am STILL experiencing anxiety. To be honest, no matter how long I'm teaching, I know I will always be anxious come September. However, once the first few weeks are over, it's smooth sailing (for the most part!) Good luck to all you new teachers!

I taught for 6 years before I had Jared and I felt nervous every year.

Re: New Teachers Anxiety
I am feeling a little worried- even though this is my tenth year I haven't been a full-time classroom teacher for two. Though I wanted to go back very badly, and am still glad that I am, I'm getting stressed. I'd also planned to do a lot more planning this summer, but that didn't really happen.

Re: New Teachers Anxiety
I'm feeling it too!
Every year is brand new - new kids, new parents... (in my case a slightly new curriculum and a new school/principal).
it's totally normal. It'll have it's ups and downs, but you'll do great

Re: New Teachers Anxiety
13th year here. I stopped having nightmares after year two and only had them again when I switched to another school.
I guess I've been at it so long, I know everything will be fine. My MIL taught for 35 years and had nightmares until the end.

Don't stress it - everything will be fine! It's like riding a bike - you never forget. What do you teach? I teach ELA and I'm the tech person in my building. If you need anything, FM!

Re: New Teachers Anxiety
Every year I suffer from anxiety. But after everything is settled(usually the end of Sept), I calm down.

I've been teaching second grade for nine years now, if you want any help, feel free to ask away!
I am actually getting excited about work. I know, I know, but I have always loved back to school. Now, come mid September, I will be wishing it was July 1st.
