Test results from Doc - got the #
So- the tech just called with my results.
My Progesterone was "normal"- does that mean, "normal" i ovulated? Or normal for not ovulating.
MY IGTT came back high- ARGGGHHH.. I guess I have to really do the SouthBeach thing again. Yuck.
The doctor is supposed to be calling me back to discuss protocol for this month.

Re: Test results from Doc
Dina, definitely call back and get your exact progesterone level. I am not sure when you took the progesterone test...but if it was at 7 dpo and it was over 10 then that's considered normal.
Are you on metformin for the insulin resistance ?

no i am on nothing right now. doc is supposed to call me with protocol, and when she does I will get exact progesterone #. Do you think also worth it to go on South Beach? my friend who has PCOS and is insulin resistant is on South Beach as per her doctor...

Re: Test results from Doc
Cutting back on dairy and sugar helps those with pcos. I don't know much about the South Beach Diet. One diet not to do when you are ttc and have pcos is Atkins...that alters your sugar levels.
The ph balance diet is great for ttc...basically, eating tons of veggies...preferrably organic.
What happens when you are insulin resistant is that your cells aren't allowing the insulin to do it's job...so the body secretes more insulin. That turns into fat cells which stores extra estrogen....and causes annovulatory cycles
Metformin helps the body regulate, the insulin.

I'm going to look into that PH Balance diet.
South Beach is modified Atkins- low carb but with good high-fiber grains after 2 weeks with a higher glycemic indexes.

Why not go see a Dietian? A lot of OB/GYN or RE practices have someone that is familiar with PCOS and insulin resistance. This is what I am doing to help avoid GD.
I also had some success with Weight Watchers.

I called the nurse, she was such a witch- she was like, IT STILL HAS TO BE EVALUATED BY THE DOCTOR.
whatever
then I asked her about IGTT and protocol, she said, "let me check" and hung up on me.
ARGH.
