Credit Cards that you earn free miles for.
Mike and I got something from Hawaiian airlines. Its a card that you get miles for. We were thinking of applying. BUT then Mike said Hawaiian doesnt fly here so we still have to pay to go from here to cali or somewhere where we can get on a Hawaiian flight.
We love Jet blue and I went to their website. They have American Express. They charge 40.00 a year And im not sure if I would use all my miles right away or save them up for a big trip to hawaii which Jet Blue doesnt go to anyway.
Went to Delta and AA and they have cards but they are 75+ a year Im not sure if I really want to pay for a card (actually im kinda against it)
Anyone have these cards or have them for free?
We just paid off our CC and are only planing on using this and then paying it the same day. Thats ok right?

Re: Credit Cards that you earn free miles for.
I get AA miles when I use my Citibank Debit card. I don't remember if it's 1 mile for every $1 or 1 mile for every $2 charged as a credit. I paid $25 to join.
I would only choose to get miles from a airline that flies to places that I'm likely to visit regularly. Paying it off the same day or within the billing period is fine, but the benefit only comes if you use the card regularly.

Re: Credit Cards that you earn free miles for.
I have an AA card that I don't have to pay a fee for the first year. I have been able to earn so many miles, that I think I am going to pay the yearly fee once it's up so that I can continue to accrue miles. I was going to get a card from US Air but I think they wanted $85 a year.
I always pay my balance in full at the end of the month and am able to accure all of the miles with no problems.

AA also has a dining program that lets you earn miles for eating at participating restaurants. You can link 3 or 4 credit cards to your AA miles and when you eat at those restaurants, you can earn miles.

I would NEVER pay for any card that had an annual fee.
They are great cards out there with great programs that have no annual fee. If you do a search... you could probably find some.

I wouldn't either. Also, I looked at that link that DJ posted and the airline reward cards that don't charge a fee have higher interest rates than what I pay on my regular cards. So if you don't pay off the balance at the end of the month in full, you may not save money in the end.
Also, I think a lot of the reward programs have a lot of blackout dates for when you want to fly. For me, it isn't worth the hassle. I would rather just use my fee-free cards that give me cash back.

I'm sorry... but nothing beats me good ole 1% cash dividend card. No BS. No hidden rules. Just cash back.
And I am not even talking about POINTS that can be converted to cash. I am talking actual CASH BACK cards. Chase and Citibank have Dividend cards. Bank of America has them too.

Re: Credit Cards that you earn free miles for.
We use TravelerMiles and I think that is through Citibank and also Value Miles which is through the First USA card... both are very good.. we are able to choose any airline we want with our miles and we also put some of our miles toward our stay at Sandals for our honeymoon... we've also traded some of our miles in for GiftCards.

Re: Credit Cards that you earn free miles for.
We have the Capital One Go Miles Card. We have 58,000 miles right now. We use this card for everything and pay in in full each month.
We're buying Florida tickets so we just called to see how we redeem. Basically we buy our tickets and multiply the price by 90 and thats how many miles it will take.
We're deciding if its worth it or not. Its $19 a year. We pay it in full so we never pay interest which I think is something like 15%
