Houses in Levittown
I am wondering...are there houses in Levittown that have basements, or are they pretty much all slab houses? I have several friends who live there and none of their houses have basements. We are just starting to get a feel for what's out there and the area is in our price range, but we would really like a basement and a garage. TIA!

I don't think most do - my dad's doesn't. But I'm pretty sure the people across the street from him have one. I think it was something that was put in later.

Re: Houses in Levittown
About 99.9% have no basements. the only ones that I know of that have basements are ones are home that were custom built there.

Re: Houses in Levittown
There are a FEW houses that have basements. They are over in the stokes and sparks school area (island trees) they were built a little later and I believe built by a different builder.

Re: Houses in Levittown
The houses that have basements are usually Splits or Colonials. I have seen a few on mlsli.com
Our house doesnt have a basement but thank god it has a nice size garage and a big yard for a shed. Scott

Yep-- they are mostly in the Island Trees area. I had a few friends in that area that had basements.

Re: Houses in Levittown
You can't miss what you never had! Since we didn't have a basement either I always thought they were exotic and unusual- when I went to college some people were like, "What do you mean you have no basement?"

Re: Houses in Levittown
There are "Miller capes" in Levittown, on and around Miller Lane which is in the Island Trees School district. Most of them have basements.

Re: Houses in Levittown
I did have a basement growing up, so I think it might be weird for me not to have one. But DH has been a apartment dweller all his life and he wants a basement too! I think it is too many years of having a washing machine in the kitchen
Seriously, thanks everyone - this helps.
