Taking your pet on a plane...
I'm taking Tyson away with me to Florida for a week next week and I was wondering if anyone had taken their pets away with them on a plane and how it went...
Did you give them something before to calm them? I've read about Content Um Calm which is all natural with tryptaphan (sp?) the chemical in turkey that makes you tired...and am going to the vet Monday and will ask..
However I wanted to hear some real experiences..
TIA

Of course, got his ticket when I booked the trip.
I know the vet will recommend something I was just wondering if anyone had brought their pets on the plane as carry on with them and how it went.

Re: Taking your pet on a plane...
oh ok thats good, alot of ppl dont relize they need their own ticket. my mil actually snook her dog on the plane last time and i was in shock she got away with it.
you can maybe try ginger snaps as treats to calm his tummy, but i dont have any medicines to suggest from personal experience
good luck

MSM its an herbal supplement that my mom give my dog when there are fireworks. It calms their nerves. This was recommended by a vet.

Children's Benadryl 1/2 cc..worked like a charm, he slept comfortably and soundly on both flights and had a great time in FL.

Re: Taking your pet on a plane...
My mother flew with her cat cross country when she moved. She got a sedative from the vet. The cat was fine except when landing at which he howled. It was probably his ears hurting from the drop in altitude. Otherwise, no problems at all.
