Need nice pen suggestion for gift
I wanted to buy DH a nice pen for his birthday. But don't know where to start. Can anyone tell me the difference between a fountain and ballpoint pen? Any suggestions? He is a Mortgage Broker so he does tons of paperwork. Looking to spend a couple of hundred dollars.

Fountain pens have nibs versus the ball points we are more accustomed to.
Montblanc is a popular high end pen line.

Montblancs are really nice pens. I have gotten my husband 2, he lost the first one! There is a store in Roos. field mall. But also search online because you can get them cheaper at some places. I got a great deal on the 2nd one online last year. Sorry though I don't remember the site.

Re: Need nice pen suggestion for gift
I 2nd MontBlanc
Between DH and I, we have quite a few. I want to get a fountain pen, (it's the one that looks like a calligraphy pen) but I haven't gotten the chance.
I would stay away from the roller ball because I find that they "catch" on high quality papers.
I do prefer the ball point pen, but I also would NOT recommend the Star Walker. Dh and I both have a Star Walker. He rarely uses his. I use mine a lot, but I've had to have it serviced twice already.
The Meisterstuk is a GREAT pen. It's black resin available in either gold trim or platinum trim. I think they are $225 and $235 respectively. MontBlanc will engrave it at no charge. For an additional $40, you can have your signature engraved on the pen.
Make sure you purchase it from an authorized Mont Blanc dealer because they guarantee the pens and will service them at no charge as long as you keep the small "users manual" that comes inside the box.
