I have a dr's appt tomorrow, but wanted to ask, what day in your cycle do you start taking clomid?
TIA

Days 3-7 if you ovulate on your own, and 5-9 if you don't usually ovulate. Those are the typical protocols. Some doctors, give annovulatory patients clomid 3-7....but I would question one who did.

I took it for the first time this month on 5-9. I also take metformin and dexmethasone (but these two drugs are taken everyday)

After 4 years on Metformin, I took myself off of the drug, because I didn't feel that it was working anymore. Now, I will be meeting with a new RE tomorrow for some baseline blood work. I wanted my system to be "clean" of all drugs so that I can have a better perspective on my levels.
I was dxed with PCOS four years ago and took 2000 mg of met for 4 years and never a pregnancy. I am hoping that with a new doctor, I will have better luck!

I was told that my PCOS is very mild, I have virtually no symptoms, but I do have it (diagnosed with many ultrasounds etc), I'm only on 500 mgs. of metformin)...we'll see what happens at the end of this cycle.
I have the name of a fantastic MD who specializes in PCOS, he's in Manhatten. Let me know if you'd like his info.

I'm in the same boat now. My ob/gyn wanted to just treat me with metformin but I wasn't comfortable with that due to the fact I'm 35. He also did not send me for a comprehensive blood work. So on my own I found an RE and have an appt. for next week.
I'll let you girls know what happens.

I always started on CD3 because even though I ovulate on my own (usually around CD20) they were trying to get me to ovulate earlier. It worked and got me ovulating around CD17 or CD18.
Good luck!
