Back from my Bahamas cruise

The weather was perfect!!

We left Monday morning to Port Canaveral and sailed on RCCL Sovereign of the Seas. It was a family vacation, so 7 of us in total. We had a great time.

It was my first time going to Coco Cay(RCCL's private island) it was paradise. We went snorkeling(saw baraccudas, tons of fish, manta rays) then RCCL serves up a huge BBQ on the beach. It is great because there aren't any locals bothering you to buy their stuff or get your hair braided.

Vacationing with my mother caused me to drink, a lot...Chat Icon I drank way too much one day, so the next morning on Paradise Island I was feeling pretty sick. But all was well. We went to cabbage beach and went on the ski bob. The water was pretty rocky.

side note: We were flying on Sprit airlines out of LGA, to Orlando. Flight was suppose to take off at 8 am, arrive 10:30, 45 min ride to ship. We had to be on the boat by 4 PM.

flight was delayed, then we boarded at 9:30, we then sat on the plane, on the runway till noon. at 12:15 we were finally in the air. We arrived in Orlando just after 2:30. our driver was great. We were on the ship by 3:35. Even though I left a couple of hours as a just in case, I will never fly out the morning of the cruise ever again.

I am glad you had a great time...the BBQ on Coco Cay sounds like a lot of fun!!

Sorry about the flights though. I think you are right about leaving the day before..who needs to stress about missing the ship.

thanks!! Coco Cay was truely a blast. Chairs and shade was free as well as hammocks and lunch. the water was so calm and they have life guards far out so you can go out on a crazy long swim. They had also sunk a plane and a boat so that marine life will build around it. There was a dj and different line dances. If any future cruisers are looking for an itinerary, make sure coco cay is added.

also I found a driver, Pete, through Standard Transportation in Orlando. He beat everyone's rates by far and was so polite and reliable.

Sounds like fun despite all the drinking. God knows we could use a vacation right now but no chance of that for a long time.
Any pics?Chat Icon

Oh you are going to love it!!!!

I wish I would have brought my digital to the islands but I was scared to. I should have. They only dock 1 boat at a time. We paid 27 a piece for the snorkle gear, so worth it. The for 15.00 they have a 40 ft waterslide, it is great. all the BBQue you can eat. you and DH are going to love it!!! what ship are you taking?
