Work baby shower gift?
We have about 20 pple coming on Tuesday for a work babyshower for one of the ladies here.. Every person chipped in 10 dollars for food and then the gift is up to your own discretion.. I am not sure what to get.. a gift card? I really have no extra money this month, so I was thinking a 25 dollar gift card will be all I can do.. Is that too cheap? Where should I get it from...
Babies R Us..Childrens Place..Toys r us..or just a general place like target... or should I NOT do a gc..thanks

A gift card isn't a bad idea - do you know if she's registered?

Re: Work baby shower gift?
No, $25 is enough for a co-worker. I would do Babies R Us or Target. They have great stuff for Babies.

go to Target and pick up an outfit - PJ's with a hat or something like that. It'll be cheaper and appropriate. I don't think you need to spend tons of a coworker.

Re: Work baby shower gift?
Oh my...ok then she probably has tons of stuff still from her other kids...
yeah I'd def. do the gift card.. I do think $25 is plenty for a work shower , esp. since you are already chipping in for food..

Yeah, she'd probably appreciate it , to use to buy formula or diapers. She proabably has a lot fo clothes & stuff.
If you did want to spend less money, however, I'd get a outfit though, you can find cute, inexpensive things at Target, or even Macy's ( something is always on sale), Old Navy, even.

Re: Work baby shower gift?
You could always run to Target and pick up a package of Pampers size 1 and a box of wipes. It would be really appreciated, and you can include the gift receipt in case she prefers Huggies. And it would be less than $25.

I would go this route. Also - Marshalls had some Ralph Lauren outfits that were really cute for about $19. Cashmere, etc. IF she's due soon, you can get her that & the season will work out.

Re: Work baby shower gift?
Since I am a new mommy, I would definately say a gift card or the diapers and wipes with a gift receipt in case it is not the kind she wants, it has been so helpful not to have to lay money out YET!! for diapers and formula..

Re: Work baby shower gift?
Wow $25 for one person is a lot! We are doing the same thing but about 25 of us are chipping in $5 each to get her a gift and food. There always seems to be an event so thats what we do, otherwise we'd all go broke.
A gift card to Babie's R Us sounds good. Also, people always like Amex Gift checks.

Re: Work baby shower gift?
Since her youngest is 8 she might not have save alot of her things. If you really want to save money toysrus sells these travel booster seat things that are like $10-15 and they are a great idea. I have given them (as part of gift to family) and everyone said they love them (but they could just be being nice)

I've seen these and women LOVE them! Or you could always put together a nice basket yourself with all baby related items (diapers, rattle, creams/lotions, receiving blankets)
