Which one do you have? What is the difference between them?

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
I have the Roundabout. This is the smallest Britax model and it has a 40 lb. (45?) weight limit. The Marathon goes up to 65 lbs I believe. I intend to move my child to a booster well before she reaches 65 lbs, so for that reason, I wanted a smaller one.

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
I registered for the Marathon...because my SIL told me that the roundabout only holds up to 40lbs...and I can't move her into a booster until she is 4/40lbs. There was no way to predict the future of how big she will be, so I got the marathon to be on the safe side...because I didn't not want to have to buy a different one if she was big.

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
Just because I was curious, I looked up NYS law on carseats/boosters...
If your child is heavier than 40lbs before the age of 4, he/she may go into a booster seat.
That should be relief to those of us without the 65 lbs. carseats!!

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
I just bought the marathon...although my DD is on the lower side for weight she has long legs so I thought this would last her a bit longer.....who knows....also it seemed a lot of the ladies on here have the marathon and are happy with it.
Hers just arrived today and is still in the box.....hoping I like it!!

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
We got the Marathon also because of the higher weight limit that it has. I figured that if we can make it last longer then that was a good thing. I know Booster seats are safe but this car seat is SUPER safe from what I've heard so I'd rather use it as long as possible.

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
i got the marathon just because of the higher weight limit. i didn't want to worry about him exceeding the weight limit before he was really ready for a booster. fyi: travelingtikes.com has the marathon for $219 with free shipping and no tax

Same reasoning here. My bf decided to upgrade it as a shower gift to the Boulevard.

What age - weight - height do they go to a booster? How much different is a booster seat?

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
I have one of each, the Roundabout from when DS was a baby (he is 5 now) and we bought the Marathon specifically for DD, because the other Roundabout got destroyed (not the "fault" of the carseat.....long story). I love both. The Marathon is very tall, so if you have a high backseat, you can't really see out the whole rearview window. We moved DS into a booser (just a "bottom" with arms that sits on top of the seat and uses the regular seatbelt) when he turned 4. Both carseats are great!

I think that the Britax seats are very easy to switch from car to car. The latch connectors on them are easier to use then on other seats. It is like a little seatbelt connector that clips onto the latch and has a button to disconnect it -- so IMO it is just easier to switch and also get super tight. It takes me all of 5 minutes to do it.

Re: Britax Roundabout vs Marathon Car Seat
i love the marathon! we just got it for spencer and it's like a luxury car seat compared to the eddie bauer we just got rid of!!! it's so soft and it looks so safe!! the only thing is don't go out and get one if you have a honda civic or something, the thing looks big even in my minivan!
