I'm trying to see if people are doing things the same way or differently from the wya they were raised, though I;m sure there are MANY more working moms these days

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
My mom worked always....I will be a Working Mom at then likely part time. I think I would only be a SAHM if I had more then 3 kids... I also would go back to work once my kids were middle school aged. I cant imagine not working.

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
my mom was a SAHM for awhile, then went to work for the $$.
I WANT to be a SAHM, but for the few weeks I wasn't working this summer, I was totally bored. We'll see what happens, but right now I think I'll go back to work for the $$

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
My mom is a teacher and decided to stay home for about 15 yrs to raise my sister and I. She went back to work when I was in HS and I have to say, I see a big difference between my sister and I. I was 15 and my sister was 7 when she went back. My sister was / is not as well behaved as I am. I don't say this to sound stuck up, I mean, we have had problems with her behavior and I wonder if not having my mom there all the time had something to do with it. Because that was the only difference in the way we were raised.
For me, my dream is to be a SAHM, but I think I will have to at least work PT for the $$.

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
My Mom and Dad had me when they were finacially ready for my mom to be stay at home - but i don't think my mom did it because she wanted to, but because my grandmother made her fell guilty about it.
She stayed at home until my father left when I was 3.
I would love to be a SAHM until my kids are in school. As a teacher, I would still have essentially the same schedule as them. I would just see myself getting bored once they weren't home.

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
I'm going to work, just like my mom did with me and my brothers - she had the ideal job as a college professor - home by 3pm, fall and spring break and summers off! My job isn't as cushy as an attorney, but DH has the most flexible hours in the world, so he'll more than make up the difference

Re: SAHM.Working Mom Poll
My mother was a SAHM until I was 10. Then she went back to work full time as a teacher. I am working again full time after my 3 month maternity leave. DH is a SAHD. So at least Andrew benefits from having one of us home still...
