Selling used appliances question...

We are remodeling our kitchen and getting new appliances - switching to gas vs. electric stove as well.

Does anyone have any idea whats a fair price to ask if I sell them?

1) GE Profilerefrigerator - side by side 25.3 cubic feet - ice maker (not on outside of door - inside), bisque color. appx 8 yrs old and in great shape. It kills me to have to replace it but it wont go with the rest of the kitchen

2) GE electric stove, self cleaning, stove is 6 yrs old maybe, also in great shape, also bisque...matching rangehood, less than a year old.

Im not posting this to hawk them here but if anyone is interested as well, let me know. But if anyone knows about the resale value, I'd love some input. I'm sure they can sell on craigslist or in the Pennysaver but have no idea of an asking px.

TIA

Re: Selling used appliances question...

I recently sold a Kenmore fridge...don't know exactly how old it was (but, I'd have to say it was older than 8 years) for $100.

Sorry that I'm really not much of a help...Chat Icon

You are probably better off donating them.

If you have the room (like a garage or basement), it might be worth it to keep the fridge. As your family grows, it never hurts to hav an extra fridge!

Re: Selling used appliances question...

we donated our refrigerator, washer and dryer (can't donate DW) to the Salvation Army. They come and pick it up and will give you a receipt - on their site I believe there is a section for what typical items are worth. If you think yours is more, I suppose you can take a picture for your tax records if you ever do get audited.

For clothing, furniture and other material donation call:

1-800-95-TRUCK (87825)

I imagine Goodwill would take them too.

For prices, you may want to look at criagslist and search for what others are selling similar items.
