NYC Italian Restaurant Suggestions
Hey all:
We are going to see George Carlin in NYC Saturday night at 10 with my FIL and want to take him to dinner before the show. He is in the mood for Italian, so can anyone suggest a casual place for dinner. Doesn't have to be cheap, but not too expensive, somewhere in the middle.
TIA

We like Monte's, in Greenwich Village - they are very friendly and it's moderately priced. I think it's on Macdougal.

Carmine's
Carmine's is great. I would also suggest Tony Di Napolis. You can order individual portions or family style and the food is yummy!

Tony's diNapoli gets my vote!!! The atmosphere was so nice, and the food was IMO, better than Carmine's. Less crowded too, but I'd still make a reservation.
here's the site. They have 2 locations - 1 in times square, 1 on the upper east side.

A woman I work with mentioned this place- it's on my list.
I forget where the Beacon is- but if you want to go east, Villa Berulia is very good. I think it's 33rd St. Got a good write up in Zagats. Northern Italian, very good food.

You guys beat me to the punch. I was going to suggest Tony DiNapoli. I find the food is fresher here than at Carmine's even though I love Carmine's as well. Enjoy!
