Need more food help and ideas
Please help me with ideas on what to give dd to eat.
She is 9 months old. Please keep in mind that she has to be able to pick it up and eat it, because she is refusing to eat off a spoon
Also, I am extremely challenged in the kitchen, so please give me idiot instructions how to make it, too.
Thanks!

Re: Need more food help and ideas
DD likes the Gerber Graduates Pasta Pick ups....they go in the microwave!
she seems to like pasta (cut up), meatballs, and sauce (all homemade and if you want a recipe for sauce and meatballs, let me know), she also enjoyed tortollini
fresh fruit cut up into chunks-bananas, mango, plums, Gerber Diced apples, pears (I buy the no sugar added canned fruit sometimes since fresh will go bad in my house so quickly b/c we don't eat it with her)
I give her mini bagels, mini croissants, pieces of waffle, sometimes plain, sometimes spread with Polaner All Fruit (no added sugar-sweetened with fruit juice)
cut up chicken nuggets (Tyson...can be microwaved)
veggies....steamed string beans, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, peas & carrots, sweet potato (canned--I buy no salt added veggies, drain, microwave or steam and put in a container in the fridge and they last several days for her meals)
broken up deli meat (turkey or ham) with broken up pieces of cheese
I gave her toast with melted cheese the other day and she liked that
I microwave a potato for her (make sure to stab it with a fork) and break that up and she LOVES it. You could do mashed potatoes with veggies (baby food or pureed yourself to make it healthier)

Re: Need more food help and ideas
I can't believe she is eating all that Shana! Logan is eating some of those things, I guess I am still afraid of him choking....
I also cook him Eggo mini waffles (cut into small pieces) Yo Baby yogurt is now a favorite of his (oh yeah, no spoon right?)
Logan went through a NO baby food stage for about two weeks, now he is taking some again...so I would keep trying sometimes. They need that iron from the cereal.

Re: Need more food help and ideas
The Parents magazine that I just got today had a whole article about finger foods. I think there were about 50 foods shown. I can look them up tomorrow for you. There were a lot of good ideas.

Re: Need more food help and ideas
Ok, so here are the things we give our daughter:
Pita with hummus or avocado Pastina with tomato sauce with canned salmon Salmon teriyaki Broiled Tilapia Sweet potatoes Cooked green beans, broccoli, carrots, spinach, cauliflower Soy hot dog with vegetarian beans Rice and beans Cheese slices Fruit mixed with yogurt Baked eggplant parmesan (really easy recipe actually - dip eggplant slices in egg - or in my case, blended tofu - then dip in breadcrumbs and lay on a baking sheet in the oven at 400 degrees for about 40 minutes - it's so yummy!) Kugel (for all you jewish mommies ) Fig newtons Cut up melon, watermelon, peaches, plums, bananas, etc.. Bagel
Ok, that's all I can think of for now...
Oh, and corn. We belong to a farm co-op so we have fresh produce delivered every week and my mom told me about this great way to cook corn! Wrap a moist paper towel around the corn, place in the microwave for a minute or two and voila - YUMMY corn on the cob!
