North Carolina Ladies-- Repost from Home board...I have some silly questions for ya!
OK, first...my DH would like to know what are the supermarket chains in NC. He is the food shopper and he is very curious.
Also, when we move down there (yes, it is an almost definite)...we plan on NOT taking any of our furniture. Being that High Point, NC is the furniture capital of the country...is it very cheap to buy furniture once we are in NC... rather than having our furniture sent down. (Please say yes because I'd love to buy brand new stuff! )
One last question...we plan on vacationing down there in the spring. Can you tell me some fun recreational things we can do with the kids and my parents? Thanks soooooooooooooo much, ladies!!!

I'm in Charlotte. Here they are in "high-end" order (my opinion only).
Harris Teeter is the higher-end store, I shop there for produce and meat (they are the best for produce and meat) and often have great sales.
Then there is Lowe's Foods - fairly comparable to Harris Teeter, I'd prefer HT over Lowes though.
There are a few Bloom's, which are brand new and high-end Food Lions, you get groceries at Food Lion prices in a nicer setting. We shop there a lot.
Then there is Bi-Lo and Food Lion = good deals, cheaper prices, less glitz.
Hope that helps.

I live in High Point...we have Harris Teeter; which we always go too...and Food Lion, plus there is Costco and Sams Club
Yes buy furniture in NC, b/c then you don't have to pay for delivery, only local which is like 60 bucks...and I Highly recommend Oakwood Furniture, they are a wholesaler that sells to the public! great furniture.
There is Carowinds, which is a theme park owned by Paramount...you could go to the mountains...
