Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
whatever Ifeel like eating at the moment. I was so strict with my daughter but had major MS so whatever worked had to be it then. I am starting to get sick again so I am just trying to get through the days.

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
Well, I had to radically change my diet to even get pregnant so I'm actually less strict now than I was then.
When I was trying no caffeine/alcohol, no white flour, no refined sugar, no chocolate, no ice cream or other cold foods, everything organic and hormone free. I couldn't go out to eat or buy anything prepared.
Now, I've relaxed the cold food and a bit on the carbs and refined sugar but not much.
Any food we bring into the house is hormone free/organic. Lots of fruit and green leafy vegetables.

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
In the beginning I was like oh have to eat this and watch that but as you go along and get hungry you will eat whatever and what is around!!!! then you will go back and forth but believe me if you ate fast food before getting PG you will eat in sometime in your PG too = cravings.

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
ugh..you girls are making me feel guilty! I have had terrible food aversions! Before pg I was all about lean proteins and veggies/fruits. Now I can barely stomach proteins and the smell of veggies is killing me! I have been living on saltines, apples, baked potatoes and mac & cheese. Some other fruit when I can tolerate it, and milk sometimes. I am worried this is not healthy but everything else makes me sick!

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
I haven't really changed my diet. It was a pretty well balanced diet before and I have continued. I don't eat fast food. I don't eat certain seafood. Usually have cereal for breakfast or the occasional egg. Sandwich or spinach pizza or a salad for lunch. Well rounded dinner with meat, starch, veggie.

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
I've been slowly working on improving my diet over the past months.
I have oatmeal and skim milk for breakfast.
I am working on eating my fruits and veggies.
I have been replacing white rice with brown, regular pasta with whole wheat, ect...
And I am trying to drink 8 glasses of water a day. (I'm going to the bathroom so much right now that I couldn't possibly handle any more than that.)

Re: Newly preggo girls... your diet
Whatever I can stomach honestly. The first 3 months I was nauseous all the time, and I actually lost 8 pounds. I still can only eat certain meats and foods I used to love don't seem to taste the same. I eat a lot of pasta, rice, veggies, fruit, potatoes, pizza. Probably way too many carbs and not enough protein. But that's all I can handle really - I'm finally starting to eat again.
