Feeling "nervous" DH and I are telling his family this weekend!!!**UPDATE: We Told Them!!**

I am sure his dad, gramma, brother and sister-in-law will be happy, especially SIL b/c she is pregnant too, due Jan 11, and has commented on how cool it would be if we were PG together.

His mom, well, I am sure she'll have something to say that will upset me, just because she always does.

And his sister, I am afraid of her reaction. She had a M/C at 7 1/2 mos (I do not know the cause, she didn't talk about it, and I didn't pry) that was almost 4 years ago, and she is very bitter about it and anyone who gets PG. I understand, but it's not bitter in a good way. She has an all-around b*tchy personality to begin with. It's just too much to get into. I am just afraid she'll lash out at me. Shortly after her M/C her then husband's SIL became PG and she was angry with her and grew immense hatred towards her, and was convinced she got PG to spite her. It's sad and I have tried talking to her, but it's useless. The worst part is that she is in no position financially or relationshipwise to get PG or have a baby right now.

Any advice on how to deal with any worse case scenarios she may throw my way????

DH said he knows she'll be mad and I asked what we're going to do about that, he said "nothing", but I feel that we both need to be on the same page and prepare.

TIA!!!!!

ETA: DH's sister's initial reaction to SIL being PG, she was upset but then was happy. But they are closer than I am with either of them. I am 31, DH's sister is 27 and SIL is 25. And SIL kisses sister's a$$, I have no time/patience for that.

**UPDATE**
So we all met up for dinner last night at 7, DH and I collectively decided to call his sister about 1 hr before to tell her, so she was not rushed with emotions in front of everyone. He told her that we cared about her feelings and she said she appreciated that.

So, at dinner just after eating, DH said to his gramma that she was going to be a great-gramma, and she said she knew, in Jan (b/c SIL is preg) and he said "and in May" she started putting 2 and 2 together. Then his mom said "What" And he said the same thing to her. Then it just made it's way around to everyone! I was pleased with the responses, not that I expected everyone to jump for joy, but it made us both feel good!!

Next stop, my parents, we leav on Oct 14 to go to South Carolina to tell my dad and step mom, then Oct 18 to Chicago to tell my mom and step dad! Cant' Wait!!!

Hope for the best.. but she sounds a little immature. I know it had to be a horriible experiene for her but life goes on and acting like that toward other people is a bit much... especially now.
Don't let anyone spoil your happy moment and this joyful time. If she can't deal with it then it's her issue to deal with. ...I don't feel you should stress over it!
Good luck and pls let us know what happens!! Chat Icon
