Mom's of AR babies
When did you stop the zantac (or whatever meds you used).
If you didn't stop yet, how old is your baby?

Re: Mom's of AR babies
I've tried weaning Joseph (he's been on it since 6 weeks - he'll be 10 mos on Wed) a few times over the last few months and each time he got bad again. I'm trying again; beginning in July, I took him down to 2x/day from 3x/day for the last month and next bottle I will only do 1x/day and see what happens. Crossing my fingers - I hate having to have him on medication

I'm obviously not at that point, but I'm curious to know, too.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
We have never upped her dose since she was 8 weeks old, so the ped siad we were kind of weaning her off anyway and suggested we try taking her off at 6 months and we had to put her back on.
I am trying again now at almost 8 months. but am having trouble figuring out if her crankiness is due to her beely or her teeth.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
When do you notice she's fussy? During or right after she eats? If that's the case I'd say she still needs it. What dosage is she at? Maybe you could just drop a dose instead of completing stopping it.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
Jacob is still on 1.25 ml's but the ped said to give it 2x a day instead of 3. He seems to be okay. He still night wakes, but i dont know if it was reflux, teething, or habit!! He will be 7 months next week.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
We stopped around 4 months and now at almost 7 I am thinking she might need it again. She is spitting up some of the baby food and my ped told me to just monitor that because it could be a reaction to the food not the AR but I think it it is happening daily it must be the AR.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
We stopped at 4 months. She was still spitting up but wasn't in pain or crying over it. The spit up finally almost stopped about 7 months. Now at almost 10 months we never have spit ups anymore.

Re: Mom's of AR babies
THats funny you posted this. I am taking Madeline to the Gi specialist tomorrow b/c I want to take her off Zantac. However, the past few days , she's been spitting up and getting cranky when we lay her flat. She's almost 6 months and hasn't had any sypmtons for about 2 months. Like others, I'm not sure if she's cranky b/c of this or b/c of her teeth. I thought she had outgrown the reflux and I'd really like to take her off the meds if possible.
