Safety Gates?
I have a raised ranch so I will definitely need a safety gate for the stairs, however I have a wrought iron railing - what kind of gate will work with this?
Also do I need to do something with the 2 wood burning stoves? We aren't planning on using the upstairs one (in the picture 2nd with the stairs) but we are planning on using the one in the family room (in 3rd picture on the brick with the TV in the picture)

Re: Safety Gates?
You can get one of those accordion type gates that open/close usually with like a hook and eye type thing.. The stove I would think eventually you'd have to do something with to block it when its in use but for now I wouldnt bother.. she wont be walking this winter!

Re: Safety Gates?
I was looking at the gates because we are looking for one to block off the staircase in our apt.. I found these. The black might be good for you though.. any other color might stand out alot.. Image Attachment(s):

THanks! I like the idea of hte black but will those type of gates connect to the iron railing? There's no wall or wood to mount it too. Where did you find those?

Re: Safety Gates?
They are most likely pressure mounted

Those looked like pressure mounted gates. Those are definitely not good for the tops of stairs. The other day my 13 month old literally ripped ours down. At the top of the stairs you definitely need one that screws to the wall.

I don't have any walls to screw it too :(

They have the kind that would hook around the railing, and the other side could screw in. I'm pretty sure I saw some at Target
