PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!! (for a friend)
Girls, I received an email today from my boss. A friend of hers (a fellow attorney in Orlando) is going through hell right now... read below and please sign this petition!
This is her email:
Hello everyone. I know that some of you know the situation with my Mom
and some of you may not. For those of you who may not, the story in a nutshell is that my Mother went to Vietnam to visit family in September of last year. While there she was arrested (yes she is an American citizen). She has remained there for a full year without being charged with any crime, she has been denied access to an attorney, and she has had limited medical and dental attention (they withheld all prescription medications for 8 months!) She lives in a very small jail cell where she sleeps on the floor and gets two meals of rice and vegetables a day. My Mother's only crime is that she has been a very loud advocate for democracy in Vietnam. For this, she is considered a terrorist in Vietnam. The Vietnamese government has investigated and has not found that my Mother did any illegal acts in Vietnam. As I stated, her only act is to speak out against the government while here in the states. For this, she may still be prosecuted. That being said here is what I am asking you to do to help my Mom:
1. Please sign a Petition to Congress to help my Mom.
2. Please forward this petition to your friends and family and have them
forward it to their friends and family.
