Another ovulation question!

Hi girls, hope everyone is keeping their spirits up! I have yet another question.

I have had light brown spotting for the past 3 days. I won't be due for AF until Sept. 3rd. My cycle is screwy, but if last month i got it on the 12th, and this month i got it on the 3rd, my cycle could be 21 days, and making me ovulate maybe between the 7th and the 12th or something...right?!? We weren't "actively" trying (every day) on those dates, but we'll see! But this spotting thing is throwing me off. I had really sore boobs last week, but nothing this week.

Re: Another ovulation question!

It could have been spotting from Oing or it could just be spotting from AF's impending arrival. Its also not abnormal for women to spot at any time during their cycle.

Re: Another ovulation question!

Sorry if TMI but now its actually still dark, but heavier so it might be AF. Is it common to get it twice in one month? I didn't have any cramps or anything. According to the ovulation sticks I haven't ovulated yet this month, unless it was right after AF on the 7th or so because I hadn't started testing until the 10th or so.

Re: Another ovulation question!

Did you just come off the pill recently? or are you on any meds? Both can mess up your cycle. Do you have a chart to post?

Re: Another ovulation question!

Nope, and no meds. Just the prenatals. I don't know how to chart, I just bought the OPK sticks and started using them around the 10th or 11th or so. Thanks for all your help!

Re: Another ovulation question!

Sometimes my cycles are off by as much as 7-10 days so its possible that you are going to get AF early.

Or like I said it may just be mid cycle spotting.

Also as for not Oing yet - sometimes I dont O until cd19-21....so your body may just be a little off this cycle.

Re: Another ovulation question!

I have just started using fertilityfriend.com

You take your bt every morning and put it in the chart. It figures out the day you will MOST LIKELY "O" but only after 1 full cycle, so you have to be really on top of things yourself.

I have determined that my cycles are 24 days so I assume I O around the 12th day - perhaps sooner - so now with keeping tracks of my temps. on the chart, I should be able to tell!!

I am new to it too....

Re: Another ovulation question!

Thanks! I guess I have to buy the thermometer then huh? Will it work if my cycles are all screwy? As of now (I just confirmed AF is here in full force) I got it July 12th, August 3rd, and now AGAIN August 24th. How do I chart something like that???

Re: Another ovulation question!

I would say yes, get the Basal Thermometer and be really GOOD about taking your temps in the a.m.

Then as you put the temp. onto your chart, the chart will kind of fill itself in for you, so you will get a good idea of when you are about to O.

Re: Another ovulation question!

As far as the past couple of months I would write that stuff down. Going forward sign up for fertilityfriend.com, it will help you chart and also help you learn of other things you need to be looking for.

Also get the book - Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler is an excellent book.
I bought it as per recommendations by girls on here and I learned alot!

Since it is the beginning of you cycle, it is the best time to go out and get the book so you can go through the book during the day of your cycle.

Lots of Luck to you.

Re: Another ovulation question!

Actually - your cycle seems to me like its 22 days long, you seem pretty regular as far as that goes. You probably O somewhere around cd10-14...so count today as cd1 since you just got AF and I would start using OPKs around cd10...maybe earlier if you notice EWCM.

Charting is great - I use fertility friend. Buy a basal thermometer and take your temp every morning at the same time BEFORE You get out of bed and then chart it on FF.

Re: Another ovulation question!

Thanks you guys really are the best! You are all so sweet. I think I should change my name since I'm not a lurker anymoreChat Icon

I will go buy some more OPK's and a thermometer and get to work. If I am on a 22 day cycle that would mean I might ovulate in the next week! This is all so confusing, I thought you just decide you want a baby and it magically happens!

Sorry for the annoying questions, but since I started spotting 2 days ago, and AF just came in full force today should today be my day one or 2 days ago? TIA!
