What brand ovulation kit do you use?
I have been using the Answer Brand, but now I am wondering if I should try a different brand. Also, when do you use it? What time of day?

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
Answer OPKs were my favorite. 2nd favorite were First Response and then Rite Aid brand.
All of the OPKs I've used tell you in the directions to NOT use FMU and instead use the OPKs between 12noon and 2pm (double check that but I'm pretty sure those are the best times to use it).
After a couple of unsuccessful months I started using the OPKs twice a day - one around 11am and one around 4pm to make sure I didnt miss my O.

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
Answer opks are very sensitive, ....imo, too sensitive. Answer opks are okay if you are just trying to get bding in but if you need to schedule an IUI, answer opks can make the timing a day too early.
The clearblue fertility monitor is the only opk, that has matched my blood work every single time. What makes the cbfm so accurate is that it not only measures LH but estradoil as well. Estradoil is what causes LH to surge...you will be able to be predict your O by the cbfm sticks like clockwork.
The only downfall is that it's expensive. However, you can purchase it online for less than a retail store.

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
I told my dh what both of you said and right now I really cant go out and buy the monitor, but he did want me to start using the Clearblue Easy Digital so I went to drugstore.com last night and ordered them. They were a litte less than the stores and should be here in a few days, I dont have to start testing until 2/21-2/22.
Thank you.

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
I use what evers on sale. I used to love the Answer ones, the 21 day kits. This month for the first time they failed me, never got a surge. And I dont liek the First response because while VERY easy to read, they are very sensitve and I was getting too many "close to positives" , I was getting confused.
The regular Clearblue easy ones worked well as did the CVS brand.
I also used the internet cheapies, which actually always worked for me as well.
I usually test around 1:00-4:00 but have in the last few months started testing 2 times a day to be sure.

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
I believe the clearblue digitals are the same sticks as they use for the monitor and those sticks do not have a control line....they are more accurate because they measure the two hormones responsible for ovulation, estradoil and LH.

Re: What brand ovulation kit do you use?
I used the Answer 20 kits, but got a lot of positive readings and really didn't know when I ovulated until my temp shifted.
I switched to the monitor and love it so far!!
Good luck with the CBE Digitals!!
