White Rice

When can you give your baby real white rice..not the cereal?? I gave my son a little last night with some chicken broth and I just wanted to make sure it is OK.

how old is your son, i wouldn't give white rice until at least 1 year, maybe even older, it is too binding and although tiny, can cause gagging since the small pieces are difficult to chew and grind up, most likely they will go down whole.

He is 9 months. I checked with the Dr and he said it is fine as long as it is not in large amounts and not everyday. My son is on antibiotics due to pneumonia and is having very loose BM's.

We put it on his little table and most of it ends up stuck to him or on the floor.

My Doctor actually just told me to start putting pieces of rice in my daughters mouth so that she starts to get used to different textures. My daughter is 7 months. Really, how much of it do they actually eat?
