Acid Reflux??? Need advice!!
Ok, so i'm wondering if jacob may have acid reflux. At first i thought it was gas, and although he does have it, there seems to be more bothering him. First of all.. the crying... it never ends. He will fall asleep, then wake frequently like 20 min later, or 30 min later, and hes crying and arching his back alot. I noticed when i feed him too he will drink, then push the nipple out, arch his neck and back, and cry. He constantly has hiccups, and it seems that nothing we do can console him. Hes just so unhappy and I am losing my mind. I tried switching formulas, i am now on the 3rd kind, and i'm seeing no difference in him. Same irritability, same arching, same crying. Could it be acid reflux??? I read up on colic and it says it usually happens for 3 hours, mostly in the evenings. This is all day long. But more of a painful cry... anyone experience this?? I am so sad for my little boy, all i want to do is cry with him
TIA

Sounds like Joseph - he arched his back and hiccupped all the time! It's possible that he has AR..it's totally treatable - we noticed a difference after 3 days of being on the zantac. Ask your dr!!

You should talk to your Dr. Does he spit up a lot too? Though I can tell you, Alex has really bad gas, and in the first three months what you describe is EXACTLY what she would do. She would arch her back, cry during feedings once in a while, and was just generally unhappy. I took her to the Dr. and he determined it wasn't AR, just bad gas. I learned ways to help her out - mostly to distract her. It still happens once in a while, but generally she grew out of it around 3 months. You should definitely check with your doctor though to rule out AR.

Talk to your DR. Mild cases of AR can be solved by hold or positioning the baby in an upright position for 20 minutes after feeding...but more serious cases will require medicine
