Anyone know of meals on wheels service that is out of state...
A friend just lost her mother she lives in NC and some friends and I would like to send her food that is prepared so she doesn't have to cook for her family.. tia

I would locate a local restuarant or supermarket. They may be able to help.
Meals on Wheels is for home bound senior citizens - unlikely your friend would qualify.

That is so kind of you.
I always thought Meals on Wheels was for people who were disabled or elderly and unable to get out of their homes.
What my friends did when my dad died was called a local restaurant and ordered platters of food and have them deliver. It was so thoughtful and wonderful of them.

My cousins on my fathers side did something similiar when my mothers father was sick, they sent platters of coldcuts from Bens Deli...and Bens delivered it...it was really awesome of them.

OMG...I just remember how much we appreciated it...we had hospice in and out of the house and all my aunts and uncles were there, it was such a nice gesture, and it was really good.
