Has anyone's baby ever completely rejected the bottle at 8 or 9 months?
Julia is almost 8 months. She's always been a GREAT eater (she's like 90% for weight). All of a sudden, she refuses to take her bottle! She's eating her solids fine, but won't drink her formula. Anyone else experience this? I'm freaking out with worry.

Have you tried giving it to her in a sippy cup?

She doesn't really know how to use the sippy cup yet. She just chews on it. She'll be 9 months on the 17th.

Re: Has anyone's baby ever completely rejected the bottle at 8 or 9 months?
My son is like this. Ever since he started on three meals per day, he nurses first thing in the morning and has about a 6oz bottle right before bed. Trying to get him to drink anything during the day is a struggle. He might drink 2 oz of water all day. For his three meals, he gets a stage 2 jar each (the fruit has quite a bit of water) and cereal for each, so we use formula in the cereal (if he won't drink it, he'll eat it!!! ). Some days he drinks more than others. I don't worry too much unless his poop is too solid or he isn't wetting his diaper. I told the pediatrician about his daily meal schedule and she wasn't concerned. She said do what you can - you can't force him - he'll drink when he's thirsty. She also suggested trying the NUBY, which we did, but Jesse wasn't interested.

What is the NUBY???
A NUBY is a sippy cup with a silicone spout which makes the transition (for me it was anyway) from bottle to sippy alot easier.

I was going to suggest the NUBY. It was the only sippy cup that worked for us in the beginning.
I have seen them in BBB and Walmart.

Could she have an ear infection or teething? My doctor said the sucking motion from the bottle can cause them pain but they'll eat solids fine.

We went in yesterday and she has no ear infection. He said it could possibly be teething but he doubts it.

Kevin is doing the same thing. Drinking maybe 1/2 his bottle at the most but scarfing down the solids.

Kevin would go thru periods where he would reject his bottles or only take a little but loved his solids. He mostly did this when we first introcuded table foods. After awhile he went back to his bottles. I always chalked it up to teething or just excitement over his new foods.

Jesse is now 11 1/2 months - he's been doing this for the past two months. We have a check-up with the pediatrician in a few weeks so we'll ask her about it again and see what she says.
I think someone already explained the NUBY.
