I think your fears are normal (particularly given your history). I know I was nervous before my 12 week appointment.
I would keep your appointment and try not to stress.

i was the same way, especially because i had just had a m/c...
are you getting the ultrascreen done? if so, when is that scheduled? you may want to coordinate that with the next checkup and the timing of that test is important. if timing is off it can yield false positives so i have been told by my dr.

I feel the same way as you. I panic when I feel no symptoms. I'm constantly poking at my boobs to make sure they're still sore.

i was like that too for this pregnancy.my doc was great, i went in for a sono every 2 weeks after i was 6 weeks along because of my missed miscarriage. i had my last sono at 12 weeks and i wont go for another until 20. perhaps you can call your doc and explain that b/c of your past history, you would really like to come in for an extra sono?

Ultrascreen is they look for preliminary markers for chromosomal defeats such as Downs. It needs to be down by your 12th or 13th week.
I decided against it because
A: Regardless of what the markers may indicate, I won't have an amino
B: I won't terminate the pregnancy regardless of the outcome
C: There is a risk of false positives and I don't want to put myself through that when I know I won't terminate.

I do this all the time too...
I am constantly nervous that something is not going to go right. I think its only natural for us to feel this way.
I know it's easier said than done but, we need to try not to get stressed.

I had the same fears after my m/c, it's totally normal. Just leave your appt. for when it is and keep talking to us here. Your baby is SO growing inside you and you're keeping it so safe!!
If something worng happens, then call the dr, but I think since you got the heartbeat that all is well! Just keep a positive attitude and know that your baby is growing each minute!!!

I think it's more not normal not to worry being that there's so much information available at our disposal. Just hang in there... a few more weeks!

Re: anyone have or had this fear in the 1st trimester?
Your fears are completely normal. I was worried right up until the end of the 1st trimester. Hell- sometimes I still get worried. I got a doppler so I can hear her heartbeat at home. It has been a great comfort!

Re: anyone have or had this fear in the 1st trimester?
Keep your appointment, it is absolutely normal to feel that way. Dr. told me she wasn't sure if my baby was going to make it in the beginning so I always was worried. To be honest at 40 weeks I still have the what if thought whenever I see that doppler coming towards my belly.

Re: anyone have or had this fear in the 1st trimester?
I had that same fear since experiencing a loss, that blissful ignorance is gone I wouldn't change the dr's appt, just try to take the completion of each day as a milestone and the next thing you know you will out of the 1st trimester.
I still do that now, and I can't believe I will be 7 month pg next friday and in my 3rd trimester!
Lots of hugs Fm me if you need me!

Re: anyone have or had this fear in the 1st trimester?
Yep I was compeltely paranoid and it didn't end at 12 weeks for me. I worried every time until I could feel her moving that I wouldn't hear a heartbeat. I think a lot of women are this way so its totally normal to be worried.
