Re: sometimes she spits up when she eats..
Ok, did she spit up or throw up, there is a difference, spit up is a smaller amount. If you can catch the throw up in your hands and it is alot it could be reflux, an allergy, etc. Try smaller more frequent feeds and see if it gets better. Spitting up after every feed is totally common, but it should not be ALOT that comes back up.

Sometimes they eat too much & spit up. Particularly in the beginning as your body is adjusting to how much milk & their stomachs are too small to hold it all down.

Sometimes it looks like a LOT more then it really is. Is it projectile? Does she seem uncomfortable? Does it happen EVERY time or just once in a while. Sometimes Emily would spit up and it looked like a lot but it was just her body being full I think.

As long as she is gaining weight and does not see in pain it s hould be ok, this sounds gross, but try to catch the throw up in your hand, if it is filling your hand it could mean she's not getting enough, but as long as her weigth gain is on taget, she should be fine, it always seems like ALOT more t us Moms than it really is.

Re: sometimes she spits up when she eats..
ok thank you ladies.. we have no been feeding her as much in a sitting and she seems to be doing fine.. she also doesn't like to burp which i think is another reason she was getting sick.. now on too poops what is normal amount of time a 1 week old should go.. last night it seemed like it was stuck there so we wiped it out of her..she has not pooped since then.. I asked the dr and he said if she goes more then 2 days its not good but i wish she was going more frequntly.. could it be because she was getting sick?? makes me sooo nervous.. thanks in advance for your help..
