good italian restaurants in huntington village
I am from the area, but can't think of anything offhand, does anyone have any recommendations? I would like to stay as close to the village as possible. Also not expensive. TIA.

Re: good italian restaurants in huntington village
I like Piccolo's better but Tutto Pazzo is also good.
Piccolo 215 Wall St. (bet. Mill Ln. & Southdown Rd.) Huntington, NY 631-424-5592 Food Decor Service Cost 26 21 24 $53 Admirers “can’t say enough” about the “amazing” New American–Italian fare, particularly the extensive list of “innovative specials”, at this “fabulous” Huntington haunt; the “knowledgeable waiters” “treat you as an honored guest”, and the “enchanting” ambiance with “delightful piano players” helps make it a “perfect place to celebrate romance”; add a 400-bottle wine list, and “no wonder the crowds keep coming” – it’s “first-class all the way
Tutto Pazzo 84 New York Ave. (bet. Ketewomoke Dr. & Youngs Hill Rd.) Huntington, NY 631-271-2253
ZAGAT Food Decor Service Cost 18 16 17 $39 A fire last year prompted a complete renovation of this Huntington trattoria that included the addition of 15-ft. ceilings and a 45-ft. bar; you’ll still get an “extensive menu” of “mainstream Italian” with “something for everyone”, all delivered “with a smile”; still, some customers aren’t crazy about the “nothing-spectacular” chow.

I second Piccolo, but I have also eaten at Mangiamo(formerly Tello) and that was tasty. However, everything at Mangiamo is family style.

Bravo Nader's Z review: It’s not a paean to the quixotic pol, but a “Southern Italian hideaway” in Huntington that elicits cries of “bravissimo” for its “excellent” red-sauce fare, including “inventive fresh preparations” of “amazing” seafood; “it’s always worth squeezing” into the “tiny quarters” to “bask in Nader’s hospitality” and be sure you don’t say arrivederci before “having a Napoleon.” Food Decor Service Cost 25 13 23 $53

I love Red...but I don't think it's Italian; more Continental.
