Re: 1st month on clomid..
OMG- yes thats VERY good. I only get one mature ( over 18 follie) a month on meds. You have a good chance of releasing 4 eggs there ( the over 18) what cycle day are you on? That 29.5 is kinda big. I would guess you will O today-tommorow and if you dont, you should be given a HCG trigger shot to produce O....you dont want that to get any bigger.

Re: 1st month on clomid..
Oh great! I usually O on my own I was just given clomid for superovulation.
They're not giving me a trigger, they said they are going to wait for me to get my lh surge using my opk's and then do IUI. They said the 29.5 may be overly mature and they're banking on the 18.5's.
When I was getting my u/s I saw the numbers and one was def 21.5, however when I spoke to the NP she said that there wasn't and didn't even bother looking at the photos....whatever though, I know what I saw and was told during my u/s.
I assumed they would give me a trigger too but no go, they want to wait. I took an opk today and it was still negative.

Re: 1st month on clomid..
hmmm, I would be nervous if you dont get a surge in a day or two tops, the big one could cause you to O only that one, which would be too big in a day or two to fertilize...anything over 30 is usually not able to fertilize....and then some of the other ons could turn into cysts if they arent ready to come out. Its tricky.
When do you go back? I would suggest calling in a day or two if you dont go back and havent gotten a + yet. Hopefully the 18 ones grow at the same rate and both release, given you lots of hope ( and maybe twins????_
I've always been given a trigger at anything over 27.
Well hopefully it all works out, you have lots to work with!

Re: 1st month on clomid..
Thanks! My opk today was a bit darker than yesterday and in the past when I was at 18 or above it usually took no longer than 3 days for it to become positive/mature, however, with the 29.5 I'm a bit nervous now.
With a follicle that large SHOULD they trigger?

Re: 1st month on clomid..
Those are great follies! I agree with Donna, if you don't get a surge in the next couple of days, call and inquire about a trigger. My last month on Clomid, I had very similar follie sizes and had a trigger. It worked for me. There is a possiblity of mulitiples though.

Re: 1st month on clomid..
I'll probably call tomorrow if still no positive. I really don't want to miss out this cycle b/c of a trigger that I should have been given. I kind of feel uncomfortable having a 29.5mm one also..I feel as though its too large to not have a surge yet.

Re: 1st month on clomid..
Don't worry about the 29.5 - that may not be the one that causes ovulation - because it isn't always the biggest one that bursts....FM Redstar - she knows more about it then me.

Re: 1st month on clomid..
OOOooooooo well that makes more sense...I thought the largest one was the one to go first. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm going to fm redstar.
Thanks

Re: 1st month on clomid..
So I left a message this morning for someone to call me back (I'm sure I won't hear from anyone) about the trigger shot and just took an opk which is practically positive. My guess it will be positive by tonight so I'm going in tomorrow for u/s and iui if it is in fact positive.
Regardless I'm going in for a u/s and b/w... what confusion
If I get a + tonight on the opk should I wait until Thursday for the IUI or is tomorrow is fine?

If you don't get a positive tonight - definitely go in for b/w and u/s. They missed one of my cycles by not monitoring me enough. If you don't get a + on the OPKs tonight, also get a script for the trigger shot.
If you do get a + tonight, I would do the IUI tomorrow and the next day - as long as there isn't a male factor.
When I got a trigger, I surged for a couple of days (at least 2) and I really do believe that was the trick that worked for me.

Re: 1st month on clomid..updated
I just spoke to them and I'm going in for trigger shot this afternoon. I told them since my follicles are a good size, which they agreed, that they had no problem with me coming in for the shot today.
I feel better now! Thanks everyone for all your help, I was sooo confused and stressed over it.
Imagine how I am in the 2ww lol

Re: 1st month on clomid..updated
I think they realized I wasn't taking no for an answer with the amount of messages I left. I also asked the nurse today after my IUI if I could do another IUI tomorrow and she was like you can but it may be too late yadayadayada...but my trigger shot was at about 5-6pm yesterday so I think tomorrow morning I could definately still be in the game...so I scheduled another one for tomorrow.
I've had it with this place. You can't get a straight answer unless you harass people there. TCOYF just took on a whole new meaning
Thanks so much ladies for all of your help!! BABY DUST TO YOU ALL!!

Just so you have something to reference, when I had a trigger shot, I had follies like you and I surged for AT LEAST 2 days! Do an OPT tonight and you'll see. I didn't have the second IUI but I BDed the same night as the IUI and I think that did it!
