Naps - when did your baby give one up?
I think I read somewhere that the morning nap is usually the first to go. Did this happen with your baby? At what age did your baby give up a nap? How many naps a day was the baby taking before giving one up?

Sarah is starting to give up one nap. Most days she's still taking 2, 1 in the morning and 1 late afternoon, but once in a while she will take one long one starting around noon. About a month ago she was mainly taking one nap, then suddenly she went back to 2.

My 2 1/2 yo DS stopped napping 2x a day right when he turned one. He continued to take a good afternoon (1.5 - 2 hr) nap until he was 23 months. Since then, he's been on a strike.

Cathy - I love that pic in your profile!! She's is sooooo cute!!
Forget 2, Jake is still taking 3 naps a day! My lazy little punk . But he seems to be almost ready to give up one so I guess it would be okay at this age to go to 2 naps?? He'll be 8 months next week.

morning nap is gone...he stopeed taking it around 16 months.
now we get one nice long late afternoon nap...about 2 hours. I actually prefer it to the 1/2 hour in the morning...45 minutes in the afternoon.

Molly stopped the morning nap early on...maybe 12 months. She now only naps 2x a week at most..usually in the afternoon.

Re: Naps - when did your baby give one up?
My baby goes back and forth - for awhile he did 3 naps - but short ones - totalling no more than 2 hours in a day. But since early winter/late fall (so about 9-10 months) - he went to 2 which he still does at 13 months. He does a long one in the late morning and usually a shorter one in the late afternoon/early evening. About 2.5-3 hours in total. But the last few days have been weird - not sure if he is moving to just one nap or if he is just off schedule. He is just starting his 1st nap now at noon!!

Cassidy is 14 mos, and for the most part, is now down to 1 nap, just starting recently. She just takes an afternoon nap, for at least 2 hours

Andrew stopped his morning nap at about 16 months. It took a good week to transition him to only 1 nap. Now he's still an excellent napper, he sleeps 2 -3 hours each afternoon! I'm lucky, he likes to sleep like me!
