All I can say is that I am so glad I don't live in NY anymore. Our brand new house was less than that. OMG prices are outrageous.

Are you kidding? We LIVE in perpetual construction! We bought a new construction home from a contractor almost 5 yrs ago & the renovations have not stopped since.
I question if our "builders kitchen" was even made of wood! After the holidays,we're knocking down a wall of the LR,opening up the space,putting columns & a fireplace. After that full basement demo (finished basement to the builder meant - cement walls and only sheetrocked ceiling)
I love looking how far your home has come (& others here on the site) & gives me loads of ideas.

Thanks - I got plenty of ideas on this site too.....
As soon as we knocked open the wall between our now living room and now dining room the whole house opened up. Our dining roomm used to be the past owners master bedroom......
It is fun to do the work, but I am sure it isnt fun to live in it while you are doing the work
