For my 30th B-day party next April
Need a casual place in a bar in Queens or LI (nassau county) where I can rent out a room for the night--need room for approx 50-60 people.
TIA.

Are you familiar with Donovans on Roosevelt Ave (58th St), they should be able to handle the # people, and are very reasonable...

Connelly's on Grand Avenue in masepth (used to be Matchmakers). They just redid it, there is a bar area, a separate room area, and they have an outside area too.

Nick and Maggies in New Hyde Park - right on the Nassau-Queens border has a bar and 2 private rooms. The food is awesome!
ETA: I don't know if you are looking for an inexpensive place - their prices are moderate, I would say.

Austin's Ale House in Kew Gardens has amazing food and very reasonable prices. We had our rehearsal luncheon there.

Oh, there's also a Donovan's in Bayside with private rooms and their prices were really good too (was looking there for a shower). It's across from Monahan and Fitzgerald's. They have a private room there too, although I wasn't crazy about the place, food or service.

We went to a Donovans off Bell last week and it was great!!! I agree with Leeners about the service but we were sitting at the bar, but the food that we had was good.

Re: Queens/LI Bar Recommendations
I went to a bar called NONO on Bell Blvd in Bayside not too long ago. We had a party of about 25 people. If we had over 30, we could have had the place to ourselves, so the place was open to the public. The place is trendy, good music, and has a nice outside patio for smokers & outdoor mingling. It was all you can drink for $40pp for 4 hours. On a Sat.
