Re: BTDT moms when to start schedule?
Almost immediately, I began writing down when Katherine would eat (I BF also) and for how long. I did that for at least a month, but there was no sign of a schedule forming at that time.
A couple of weeks before I was going back to work I started my list again. I wrote down how much she ate and when (by this time I was BF only part time) and when she would nap and for how long. It was a real eye-opener and for the first time I could see a real schedule forming. This was just shy of 3 months. I did not "schedule" her myself, I just noted when she would eat/nap and it worked itself out to a regular pattern.

Re: BTDT moms when to start schedule?
Bella worked herself into a schedule around 2 months-ish...
what we did was try and help her distinguish night and day...after 9 we kept the lights low and anytime she fell asleep after a dinner feeding we let her sleep as long as she could...during the day we never let her go longer than 4 hours without eating...
in the middle of the night we changed her in minimal lighting, fed her, and immediately tried to put her back to sleep..
This all seemed to help...

i am wondering the same thing...
how does one teach the little stinker light=day, dark=night and NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND
I don't know if gianna did it herself or we did it, but she sleeps 5-6 hours at night only waking up once to eat( i BF)
what we did, is get into a night routine, and tried to do the same every night. around 9-10 we change her into pjs and we don't talk to her, or play with her. if we do talk to her it's in a low soft voice, much different than daytime. the same goes 4 nightime, very soft light, no jiggling or playing, she's gets up, gets changed, eats, and right back in her crib. i let her fuss for a little bit and she puts herself right to sleep. i would only go to her if the cries are piercing, like pain or gas or if starts working herself up. So far it's worked, its been almost 2 weeks, and i am loving sleeping a 5 hour clip! knock on wood!
