Re: Ouch - OIL

For 3 months we paid 512 for gas and 127 for electric for a total of 639. I hope that makes you feel better that our heating/electric bills are about the same.

Re: Ouch - OIL

We are locked in at 2.79. We have a 500 gallon tank. They are only supposed to drop about 250 each time. I think the last drop we got was about 350/375 gallons. I didn't look to closely though. My poor DH is having a heart attack over these oil prices.

Re: Ouch - OIL

yeesh we get a delivery Sunday/Monday, for the first time since Mid-January.

Can't Wait!! Should be a fun bill!

We usually run about $200/month, so I'm expecting it to be in the $300 range (hopefully).

Time to break out those sweaters and blankets!

I second Spring to come!

Re: Ouch - OIL

so far we have paid 742.00 for 2 deliveries and they are trying to do another before spring- we were like NO THANK YOU- we dont want another delivery, spring is around the corner, and if we get real low we will just use the fireplace for heat at night, no biggie. they are not getting another penny from us, and our first delivery wasnt until lets see I believe in december and then another in january so they can stay away! LOL.

I don't understand why you would refuse the delivery. If you don't get it now... you will have to get it down the road anyways.

Is the price of oil really going to drop significantly enough months down the road to net a difference?

no we have a contract, but why get the delivery when we dont need it? its money in our pockets NOW rather in theirs for oil that will just sit there. last year we did not get a delivery from may till december and we didnt ask for it to be that way they just did that themselves b/c they overfill it. If we are not using that much oil than there is no reason to keep filling it up to the "brim" especially if we went so long last year without the deliveries and had plenty of oil to last us 7 months.

Re: Ouch - OIL

I suppose it makes sense... especially if you have a large oil tank. My tank is only 275 so its almost not even worth the trouble to have to "stop" a delivery and then keep an eye on the tank.
