Anyone have oily skin?
It doesn't seem like any makeup stops my face from looking oily before lunch. Anyone have any recommendations? I was going to try Bare Escentuals, but I've heard it isn't good for oily skin. Now I use Origins loose powder with a Mac foundation.

Re: Anyone have oily skin?
I have very oily skin. Bare Minerals I hate, since it has lots of shimmery mica that turns to a slick on me! My mom wears BE, and for drier types it's great.
I only wear tinted moisturizer and I top it with Mac Blot powder--THE BEST for oily skin. The colors are weird so I suggest going to Mac for a match. Also, underneath it all, I wear something called "Vita-Firm Serum" I picked up at a Cactus salon. It magically keeps oilies out and skin clear. Good luck. I'm an editor....but my secret dream is to be a dermatologist! ha ha!

Beth, I don't normally wear foundation (sometimes I use Bare Escentuals) but I always use blotting papers to control the oiliness.

I use those. It helps momentarily, but not for long. Thanks though!

Thanks, I think I'll try the Mac powder! I love the foundation.

I haven't found any long lasting solution for my oily skin, either. I just use blot papers.

Re: Anyone have oily skin?
Me, me, me! I rarely wear foundation either, it seems like whenever I do, I get a bad breakout. What works for me is using some light lotion or moisturizer (the dermalogica stuff works well), let it sink in completely, and then I use Clinique loose powder.
I may try some of the other suggestions, though.

Re: Anyone have oily skin?
The only thing that helps my oily skin is an antibiotic from the dermatologist. I also use Retin-A at night.

Are you on it all the time? I have creams from the dermatologist, but I don't want antibiotics to interfere with my BC pills.

I use Clean and Clear. I think I'll try Cetaphil! Do you use one specifically for oily skin?

I use Cetaphil for oily skin. Also, I've heard that Merle Norman Luxiva Shine Control Lotion is really good and lasts all day.

I was using Clean and Clear for sensitive skin, which was working well for a while, but now it's not working so well. I started using Purpose soap this week and I really like it - the scent and how it works with my skin. My acne prone friend recommended it.

Yup. Its called minocycline. I haven't gotten oily or a pimple while on it.
