BTDT Mommies...When did you start taking baby for a walk outside?
DD is 11 days old and we want to take her for a walk in the park today. DH thinks I am nuts to be concerned, but I don't want her to get sick.
The pediatrician said no "crowds" until she gets her shots, but is outside ok? TIA

Immediately. Outside is fine.
If you have mosquito netting, you can put it over her so you don't have to break the old lady's arm that reaches in & tries to touch her.

We took walks within the first week. We waited a few weeks to go to stores and stuff but around the neighborhood we did right away.

We went to BRU's when she was 10 days old for birth announcment pictures. We went out for a walk at 2 weeks. I just kept her podded as my mom calls it with both hoods up on the stroller.

we went to park (DH, DD, and our doggie) before it started raining. It felt great to get out of the house! DD was fine and I could tell that she needed the fresh air too.

Outside is fine as long as you are just going for a walk and not into stores where its crowded. My dr said we could take her to the stores when she was 2 months.

I started taking Katie out for walks at the park and around my neighborhood around 7-8 days old. My dr said it was fine to take her out and get fresh air. He said no to crowded places and stores but said the fresh air would be great for her. I take her out every chance I get.
