Baby furniture costs
I'm starting to look at cribs/changing tables... and was just wondering how much you guys have shelled, or will shell out for your bundle of joy. Did you go all out and get all items or just buy a crib?

Re: Baby furniture costs
Our nursery is small, so we only had room for a crib, dresser, bookshelf and glider with ottoman. We used to change her in the crib when the mattress was on the highest setting. Now I change her on the floor and DH changes her in the crib since he's so tall he can reach in there easy.

Re: Baby furniture costs
We are not going all out and getting many things. The room will have a crib, dresser (small 3 drawer dresser) and maybe a glider and ottoman.
We bought the crib ourselves - $350. We will register for a dresser and maybe the glider

Re: Baby furniture costs
The only big piece of furniture we bought was a crib, for $299. My mom kept my baby changing table and we are using that for him, too. I just bought a new pad and straps for it. But we have a rocker and plenty of dressers already. The nursery is very small to begin with so I didn't want to overcrowd it.

Re: Baby furniture costs
Our furniture cost us a pretty penny, but I had 3 children who all used that same furniture, so it turned out to be a great investment!
I had a crib, 2 dressers, changing table, glider with ottoman and a bookcase
Do your research. I know alot of moms who didn't have alot of money to shell out and instead they bought their pieces from difference places and they saved themselves alot of money!

Crib, changing table (dresser) and tall thin dresser $799 for the set at BBB
Glider & Ottoman $240 at BRU
Bookcase/shelf at Montgomeryward.com for about $200
that doesnt include the construction DH did, the rug, paint, ceiling fan...

Re: Baby furniture costs
we got the crib, changing table and dresser for $800. I think thats it for furniture, unless we get a glider.
We got quality furniture (solid hardwood), but didn't go crazy.

Re: Baby furniture costs
We got a crib, tall dresser, long dresser and hutch and it was $3400 but we got good quality wood furniture because we plan for her to use this as long as she lives at home. Her crib is a convertible crib that goes to a full size bed so that should be fine for quite a long time.
ETA: I also got a Best Chairs glider that I plan to reuse with the next baby.

Re: Baby furniture costs
We bought Legacy from a store up here in CT. But we purchased a lifetime crib, changing dresser with hutch and 5 chest of drawers. Also got the conversion bars to turn the crib into a full size bed. Brand is Legacy-made by child craft industries with delivery, tax cost us $2600 bucks
ETS: The wood is all oak, dove tailed drawers. This set should last her forever!

Re: Baby furniture costs
I think I posted this somewhere else too but we bought this for the baby's room for her toys/books. It was $179 at Montgomery Ward and shipping was only $27! If anyone is interested! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Baby furniture costs
We chose a lifetime crib, combo changing table unit, and 5 draw dresser for about $1500 from BBB. It's solid wood that will last her throughout her childhood.

Re: Baby furniture costs
My sister passed down my Godsons nursery set, crib, 2 dressers, one has a changing table piece which is removable. It is solid maple and she spent a few thousand on the set so we were glad to have it
The only piece of furniture we bought was the Dream Rocker and Ottoman in Sage green from Pottery Barn. Worth every penny, it is SO comfy

Re: Baby furniture costs
We decided on a Ragazzi set from Behrs. It's maple wood and the crib converts from a crib to toddler bed to a full size bed, a changing station which has 3 draws and a side piece that is attached with a door for added storage and a high boy chest. I wanted something that would last through time they are home with us. We were very fortunate that my parents purchased the set for us and with tax delivery set up and matterss it came to $3200. We antisapate getting a glider and bookshlef.

Re: Baby furniture costs
We spent approx:
$400 - Convertible Crib from BRU $250 - Changing table from BRU $150 - Glider and ottoman from BRU
Now, let me just say that I feel like we totally cheaped out compared to what I've seen some of the other moms here spend on their nursery furniture and I STILL thought it was an insane amount of money. I nearly fell over looking at the prices when I went to Behr's. I just could not justify spending thousands on nursery furniture when A) WE don't even have a bedroom set yet, and B) no matter how "good quality" your furniture is, IMO, in a few years the kid will trash it or you'll want to/have to change it. I rather spend that money later on stuff for the baby.
Oh and for ME, the glider and ottoman were a waste, never used it. I'm looking to sell it but DH won't let me yet!

Re: Baby furniture costs
Our furniture was just under 4K (w/ tax and delivery). We bought a crib, dresser, hutch, armoire, glider and ottoman from Bellini.
