Pier 1 dining room set
DH and I fell in love with a dining room table & chairs at Pier 1. It would cost about $1200.
Do you think that is a lot?
I cant find anything that looks like it on line.

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
What's it made out of---what kind of wood? I don't think $1200 is a lot for a set, especially for wood. If you like it you should go for it. It can be so hard to find things you truly like!

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
I saw that in person and in my very un-expert opinion I thought it looked well-made and it IS a beautiful set.
We have bedroom furniture from Pier 1. I found it to be very well-made and the customer service/delivery end went smoothly.
I think their stuff is all wood. I know our set is. $1200 is not a bad price, IMO.
ETA: Is $1200 the sale price? Because they do seem to have sales often. Also, if one of you opens a Pier 1 account and uses it for the furniture you get a percentage off. I can't remember how much but I know we saved a few hundred dollars getting our stuff during a sale and opening an account with them.

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
It looks like its really well made. Its all wood apart from the tiles. The $1200 is the reg price. We are hoping that it goes on sale soon. My DH really wants it he brought it up again today.
The table is not that much $ but the chairs are $135 a piece.

Pier one generally has a bedroom sale in February and a dining room sale in March or visa versa. We did that and opened up a credit card to save a lot of money. It helps if you can pick up the items yourself too, the delivery was a decent amount of money.

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
Actually, I saw this is person I think it is very well made. I actually love the table so I was thinking of getting the table and passing on the chairs-- I don't think there is anything special about the chairs and they are a bit overproced, IMO. I figured I could find other chairs that I really like in that collor wood somewhere else.

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
I love, love, love this set! I wanted to buy it too. I think the price is ok and it seemed to be made well, but my concern was the tile top. I am afraid with a lot of use the tiles may crack and then how could you replace them?

Re: Pier 1 dining room set
what size is your dining room? although the table is nice, it is quite small (62.5w x 38.75d x 30.25h in) and does not have a leaf. the most amount of chairs you could fit would be 6.
