C-Section moms
I want to start doing some abdominal exercises like crunches, etc to start getting rid of the flab, but I'm scared 9 weeks later even though my doctor gave me the green light.
So, when did you all start exercising again and can I expect any discomfort?

Re: C-Section moms
he gave you the green light to ab exercises after only 9 weeks?
my doc told me not to do anything for 3 months.
p.s. after about a yr is when I started to be able to do crunches without feeling tightness on my scar....but eveyone heals differently.
p.s.s. make sure that you are wearing pants in which the waisteline does not go across your scar...this will irriate it much faster if you are doing excersises.

Really??! My doctor gave me the ok to do pilates after 6 weeks... I started doing it and that's when my stitch popped and started bleeding! Guess I should've waited longer, eh?

Re: C-Section moms
My doc said at 6 weeks I'd be able to -- but I'm only 5 weeks now so I haven't started yet, but I'm dying to! Now I'm afraid to!!!

Re: C-Section moms
I really don't wish to frighten anyone....but I think 6 wks or 9 wks to start exercising is too soon after a C-Section.
You just had major abdominal surgery.
Even though I had to ok to have sex at 6wks...I felt like too much pressure...and I personally needed to wait a little longer.
again...eveyone heals differently...but there is no need rush off to the gym or do crunches. start off slow....take a long walk...and see how you feel...then slowly increase your workout.

Re: C-Section moms
My doctor said 6 to 8 weeks, so thats when I started to use my tredmill. I started out slow. I wouldnt rush it, I'm still sensitive in that area and I had her 4 mts ago.

Re: C-Section moms
I got the ok after 3 months. So that's when I started with the crunches. I was a little sore at first, so I took it slow.
