Does anyone have a 1-cup coffee maker?
The kind that uses the coffee pods? Do you like it? What brand is it?
I am thinking about getting one for a friend for x-mas and was wondering what is the best brand. I have been reading some reviews online but wanted to get some additional opinions. Thanks!

We have the Keurig. I love it!!!! Actually, everyone who comes over loves it. We've given it to a couple of people as gifts also.

We have the Keurig at work ... it is such a conversation starter amonst coworkers and I like the fact there are different coffee options (bold, medium, mild ... green mountain, gloria jeans, etc ... coffee, tea, specialty coffees ...)

Re: Does anyone have a 1-cup coffee maker?
sorry to hijack your thread but I'm glad you posted this, I was thinking about getting one for my ILs....
How fast does it brew the cup? Like for 2 people getting ready to go to work in the morning would that work for them?
and also, do you only have to buy special coffee things?
I was just looking at the website http://www.keurig.com/brewers.asp?mscsid=2D4RKAARJUDS8N2U4PQ6MXMH5Q12AW5D

I don't drink coffee so I bought my husband a Kreuig a year ago. He totally loves it. It is very practical for us since he is the only coffee drinker no sense to brew an entire pot. He likes the Green Mountain, Dedrich and Timothy's brand pods. There are plenty of sites to get them from. I usually order from www.coffeewhiz.com buy 6 boxes get free shipping.

The coffee brews very fast like 30 secs I'd say. The only complaint I've heard is that the cup of coffee is small, it in a giant mug it probably fills 1/2 of it. In a regular size mug it is fine.
FYI Macys and BB&B sell the machines now.

My husband drinks coffee. We got the Senseo and he loves it. You can buy different coffee flavors and the coffee is made pretty quickly.. You can either make one or two cups.....Senseo

He uses any coffee pods as long as it's the flavor that he wants to drink....

The Keurig home versoin (B50 I think) is $149-$199. If its $199 wait a week for the sale price. We got ours at Bloomingdales. We also order from Coffeewhiz or Coffeegiant.com. Its less than 30 seconds per cup and you can easily brew 4-5 cups in a row.

Re: Does anyone have a 1-cup coffee maker?
We have the one you guys are talking about at work. They don't use pods but k-cups.
The ones with the pods are MUCH cheaper. I actually gave three as Christmas gifts last year (my mom, my brother and MIL) + some pods and one of those stainless steel to-go coffee thermoses/cups. I got them at target for about $50-60.
ETA: I think this is the updated version of the one I bought last year. I know it definitely fit those thermos thingy's underneath, though.

Re: Does anyone have a 1-cup coffee maker?
Quick question to those that have it at home ....
How does the water heat up (do you have to fill up a container with water? is it plugged in to a pipe?) And how long does it take? At work ours is connected a hose that is connected to the water supply system and it is always hot ...
I would imagine that the water would need a few minutes to heat if you had to fill it and plug it it ..

There is a compartment for the water that easily comes off to fill up the water. Depending how much you use it will determine how often you need to fill it up. Also yes the machine needs a few minutes for the water to heat up. I say its like 3 mins max.
