Can you put little tights on her if you're due in the winter? I would think her legs should be covered but maybe just use a blanket.

if you're due in the winter, honestly it's not a good idea, the babys should be more bundled up than that

ITA! Baby should wear 1 more layer than you are wearing so if you are in jeans and a t baby should be in long pants, long sleeved shirt and coat or blanket.

HOnestly, if you go to Babies R us or Buy Buy Baby and buy a cute stretchie with matching hat and blanket thats all you need. I spent so much money on my first child and nobody sees the baby that day. Yes, you want to dress them up because they are yours and it is pretty but reality is they are going home and going to sleep. save your money and buy an outfit for the holidays.

FOr my second child I spent 20.00 on everything to go home in besides she was in a carseat and Bundle me anyway.

And don't buy one of those "bringing home baby" outfits that BRU and BBB sell. I registered for them and it said "fits baby 0-6 months" HUH? Needless to say that the bib went down to my babys knees.

I wound up using a set from the gap someone got us. And no one saw us going home, but you do take pictures. We also had nice baby blankets for the boys as well.

Well early October isn't too cold. I think that would be OK with tights and a sweater then a blanket over the car seat. For the most part you go from the hospital door to the car which DH can get warm anyway and then you go right into your house. I would have a backup plan in case its a cold day.

This won't work because you won't be able to strap baby in the car seat. Ypu need to be able to but the strap between the legs.
The pj's are cute though, without the bag.

Do they even make newborn tights? What about the umbilical cord?? Wouldnt the tights potentially rub against the cord?

Good point. I didn't even think about the cord. It seems like a million years ago Chat Icon

Re: Can I bring baby home in this?

It is beautiful but I don't think it is a good outfit for October. When Hayley came home (the end of September) I used a pretty stretchie (she also had on an undershirt), she had a little hat on, I then put her in the seat, and put a receiving blanket over her car seat. It was in the mid 70's I think because I think I had shorts on that day

I agree. It's lovely but more of a summer outfit. Strusburg is one of my favorite places to shop!!

Re: Can I bring baby home in this?

I spent so much money on my daughter's outfit to come home in, and she came out sooooooooo small (6lbs) that she didn't fit into anything and I had to send DH to the store to get a premie outfit for her! Just wanted to add that to give you perspective before you spend oodles of money on an outfit... also, baby's metabolism isn't very good in the beginning so they get cold very easily. It's a good idea to get something with long pants and long sleeves... I like the second outfit Chat Icon

Beth i absolutely love the outfit but it may be a little too cold. get whatever u think will be good.

we have a one piece extremely soft fleece pink jumper that my mom bought. we are going to go with that being that it may be very chilly.

Re: Can I bring baby home in this?

I LOVE that outfit, but have to agree that maybe you should go with pants.

Do they have similar outifits in pants? I don't see why they wouldn't.
