Another site for assessing your home value
My dad sent this to me. It looks like it's mostly based on the sq footage but it allows you to adjust for the condition of the house and the market..
I don't know if it's really accurate but it's got good features.

It's wrong...it has erroneous info for my house (sq. ft, # of bathrooms) and doesn't let me update. Oh well.

It values my house at $462, a Levitt expanded cape. While I like my house, I don't think I could get anywhere near $462 for it.

I was able to update the listing for my house and adjust it..I think it's a little high but not too way off.

Also It seems that it shows the most up to date houses that have closed in your area.

Hmmm...it didn't show any info for my house and didn't let me update. I wonder if it's b/c I just closed in June. It did, however, have the area comps (whic I knew already) but that was good to see.

There was no pop up for me, but I found the edit button. Definitely too high...but hey, it's nice to dream!!
And that's with a whole bathroom less...man!!

re: my parents house, according to the comps, they're listing my folks' house at about $150-$200K over. that is QUITE a difference!

Problem with the comps is unless your home is the same as some other home, meaning style, condition, property and location it's hard to really assess what the house is worth. My house doesn't have another one like it to compare. I would say my house was about 10% too high.

I put in my neighbors house. While it is much bigger than mine it's was waaaaaaay above what it's worth. It goes by sq. footage and according to that website it's 3000 sq ft. I think it's smaller than that!
