Does anyone play music for their baby?

I saw a Baby Mozart CD on BBB and want to get it - thought I heard somewhere it was good to play music while they are in the womb. Any thoughts?

Well, being a music teacher, I have music going almost all day, so yes, but by default! haha. I am not sure if it makes a difference in utero, but I will definitley play my flute for her and other music once she is born.

yes, i have the baby mozart cd and play it for them while i am on the computer :)

I am going to play it once I'm further in my pregnancy. They said it's very good to this for them but that you should use headphones and put them on your belly. You can also read to them stories, which somehow they prefer to hear after they are born and are further in their months and years. I know someone who did this and her son is very talkative, very good in math, and musical. He's only 5 years old and he plays the piano and sings beautiful. His mom seems to think that by doing this, this somehow helped.

I haven't with this baby but with my son my DH made me play classical in the car all the time! I personally don't care for it! It was a specific CD though and I can't remember?

I did it for every one of my pregnancies and can I tell you that it's AMAZING how it works!! I remember my son (first one) being very fussy, and I would pop in the CD that I played to him in utero and VOILA! he would settle down. When I asked my pediatrician, he said that they remember the music and it soothes them because it reminds them of when they were in their mommies bellies.

I played every type of music possible. If I were driving, the radio was always blasting. All my kids love music and I strongly believe that's why.

i used to play music for jacob in utero.. i bought a classical lullabye cd and put the headphones on my belly, he would always settle down if he was being very active.

Now every night when i put him to sleep I put that same CD on, and he falls right asleep. I put it on repeat and it plays all night long very softly. They say that they remember the music..

I used to play music in my car...nothing classical, just my music. At home I played Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics. Now that Jared is here, I still play that and he loves it...puts him right to sleep.

When I was pregnant w/Delaney I was taking a kickboxing class and it was always pumping music and that kid used to kick me everytime. Sure enough - she absolutely loves any kind of music. They say playing music is very good for the baby in utero.

I teach dance part-time so I think the baby gets it's fill of music and me counting to 8 over and over I do put my MP3 headphones on my belly at night sometimes.

That's great positive feedback! I was in Targey tonight and bought Baby Einstein Beethoven. Hopefully they like it!
