We have finally decided on our destination for our anniversary trip...

Any tips, sites, restaurants would be helpful!

Re: Whose been to Aruba??

We did Aruba for our honeymoon. We loved it. We stayed at the Radisson. If you aren't staying at the Radisson or the Hyatt, you should definitely visit for dinner or drinks because they are beautiful.

The weather is wonderful - hardly ever rains any time of the year. The beaches are so great and there are tons of water sports (if you like that). You'll want to do some kind of a tour one day - they advertise a lot for the "jeep" tours where you go off roading (with a guide) to special parts of the island. It is very cool.

One of the nice things about Aruba is that it is one of the few islands that has good food - there are so many great restaurants that I won't name them all. We went to a different place every night. But before you leave the US, you have to make reservations at El Gaucho because it gets very busy (you can do it online) - this is the signature restaurant that everyone goes to - has amazing steak and great atmosphere.

We only went "downtown" once, and didn't really stay because it's mostly touristy shopping and very city-like. Spending 1/2 day there is enough to just go buy souvenirs. Also, there are casinos if you like to gamble, but they are a little cheesy. That's OK to do for one night as well.

Hope that helps somewhat - FM me if you want more details or have specific question!

we vacationed in Aruba. We stayed in the Marriot which was totally awesome. The casino was in their lobby. Tons of gambling in Aruba if its your thing. The island is VERY small. U can do a day tour and see the whole place. I remember there was one hotel that had its own private beach. You took a boat to this private island. it was really cool. Big name...like sheraton or hyatt. Look into that as well. There is a website that reviews peoples trips and opinions of what to do and what to see. Fm me if u want that website. I have to ask my DH what it is, i cant remember.

Thanks so much-- we were actually thinking of booking the Radisson.. glad to hear you loved it! And thanks for the restaurant tip-- me and DH are definite foodies and found that on our HM-- that was the one thing a lot of beach destinations lacked-- interesting restaurants.

Dinner at Flying Fishbone at Sunset... I know the name sounds weird, but it was the most romantic dinner I've ever had. You sit at a table with your feet in the water watching sunset. The food is great and the scenery unbelievable.

Also, El Gaucho for Argentian steak was really good too.

Re: Whose been to Aruba??

My DH and went to Aruba for our honeymoon and we stayed t the radisoon and it was by far the best trip we ever took!!! u will have SO much fun. The booze cruise is a great night outing. There's also a bus that takes u bar hopping. The shops are cute and the restaurants by far are amazing. If u like seafood the Aqua Grill is gr8. We ate there twice. The radisoon has the sunset grill restaurant which is nice too. The spa at the radisson is also very relaxing. Make sure u get up early to get a hut on the beach if not the radisson has two pools. Re: Whose been to Aruba??

I've been there 4 times. 2 of the times I stayed at resorts. We stayed at the Divi Divi Resort in a casita or a little house on the beach. The other time we stayed the Divi Tamajaran..which is now all-inclusive. The last two times we went on our cruise. We rented a jeep there and drove around the whole island. We saw the lighthouse, the natural bridge (unfortunately it's not there anymore) and went down to the best beach...baby beach on the southernmost point of the island. My DH also took us off-roading on the bumpy hills where you're not supposted to go with the rented jeeps....it was very scary.
