why do people stay so late? VENT
Julia is 3 weeks old and we've had a few visitors the last couple weeks - but why o why do people think its okay to stay way past midnight - i mean i have a baby, im tired, baby's tired and fussy - wouldn't that be a cue to leave earlier? arghhhh

I know someone like that...I basically get the baby ready for bed...turn down the lights nad act as if this person was not there.

I know someone like that...I basically get the baby ready for bed...turn down the lights nad act as if this person was not there.
I know, I did just that!! It didn't work both times - i changed the baby, made the bottle for her - prepared her for bed - but she wouldn't sleep because of the noise level and light.
I mean, I appreciate people coming over to see her and bringing gifts - but come on - don't you realize that getting at my house past 8 pm and leaving after midnight is just unacceptable - im so tired - and trying to get into the whole routine of things - i guess i need to spell it out for some people

I understand what you mean about the noise level...this particular person has no indoor voice and is very loud....if the baby is having a hard time going to sleep...I take him inot my bedroom and shut the door....its late enough at night that I don't have to be polite

I use to beg people to stay late (well, My mom, aunts, grandma and bestfriend) because I hated the night time, it was so lonely when I was up all night BFing, I;d make my Mom and bestfreind stay with me all night so I would have company! But the other people I would literally change the baby or go into thje other oom to BF and then they's get the hint.
